Captain - Sean Heffernan ‘Hef’
Hef’s passion for the sea and the outdoors started at a young age with fishing and camping trips around the coast of Ireland with his parents. Growing up in the suburbs of Dublin he ventured to the coasts and rivers seeking adventure at every opportunity. Fueling his need to be around the ocean he obtained summer scholarships aboard two Irish Tall-ship Sail Training vessels at the age of 16. This is where his love for sailing was born. Working aboard, learning the skills of sailing, he received further scholarships to train as a watch leader.
After leaving school, Hef’s love for the outdoors became clear when he undertook an outdoor recreation diploma, where he started to hone his skills in sailing. Obtaining instructorships in many outdoor fields, he focused his skills on sailing. Following his graduation, he taught sailing for 4 years, before setting out to pursue his next goal of becoming a captain.

Chef - Kristy Marner
From a young age, Kristy discovered her enthusiasm and love of cooking from her parents. Growing up in a small rural village in Royal Berkshire, England, she would help her parents pick runner beans, rhubarb and tomatoes from the kitchen garden, and make jams and chutneys from the plums and apple trees.
Kristy discovered an unusual route into the Super Yacht industry. She trained at university as an Equine Scientist, after which she ran a racing yard in Newmarket, Suffolk and then moved to Chamonix in France to pursue her love of snowboarding. She worked in high end boutique chalets, cooking for up to 20 guests, as well as hosting cocktail parties, caring for and entertaining children of all ages, and guiding guests up the mountains. Here she gained an in depth knowledge of French and fusion cuisine. This is where she met Hef, and decided that her extensive repertoire of skills could be adapted and utilized in the yachting world.
She undertook a Day Skipper course in Southampton, following a cooking course at Ashburton Cookery School in Cornwall. Kristy also took part in a Sri Lankan cookery course to widen her skills in traditional styles of cooking. Kristy is also a keen diver and has recently obtained her Divemaster, as well as enjoying surfing and kiteboarding.
Kristy’s passion for fresh, local produce is reflected in her menus. She has a flair for making her guests culinary experience an unforgettable one. Her menus can be tailored to suit any diets or personal tastes whilst still including a regional influence using local markets and farmers.
